Sometimes, the installation may fail after you try to import. This can happen for a variety of reasons such as your internet speed/bandwidth or your hosting environment. The steps below applies to solving issues like:
- Demo content failed to import error
- Only some demo content has been installed
- Demo pictures not fully showing (ex: blank with question mark icon)
Option 1 – Try Importing Again
The first step, is to simply try importing again:
- Check your Media Library to confirm whether the media files are being added.
- If the media files are being imported, try importing the same starter template again but this time do not enable the option “Delete Previously Imported Posts and Images?”.
- Repeat the import process a couple of times. This method can help gradually import all media files, pages, and settings if your server is unable to process the full import in one go.
If the error persists, try disabling all plugins, except the Kadence Starter Templates plugin and try again. You may have to try the import a few times for it to work. Otherwise, continue on for further instruction.
Option 2 – Contact Your Host
Some hosts have a standard upload limit for their users and often this is a very low limit that is unable to execute larger files like the content import. Please contact your host and ask them to set the following PHP configurations, at a minimum: (just copy and paste the below in a message to your host!)
Hi there, may I please have my PHP updated to the latest version, and configurations set to:
memory_limit = 512M
max_execution_time = 900
max_input_time = 900
post_max_size = 256M
upload_max_filesize = 720M
Once your host has confirmed the updates, try importing again.
If you are still having trouble after completing both options above, please reach out to me asap.
