Applies to Themes

Once your Florence custom fonts are uploaded and assigned, you can also apply them directly inside the WordPress page editor. This is helpful when you want specific headings or text blocks to use your custom heading or accent fonts within individual page layouts.

You can use these same steps on new blocks you add later as well.

Step 1 – Select the Text Block to Edit

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, open the page you want to edit.
  2. Click into any heading or text block already included in the template.
  3. In the top-right corner of the editor, make sure the settings sidebar is visible.
    • If it is hidden, click the settings/sidebar icon next to the save or publish button to open it.

Step 2 – Open the Advanced Typography Settings

  1. With your heading or text block selected, look in the right-hand settings panel.
  2. Open Advanced Typography.

This is where you can control the font family for that specific block.

Step 3 – Choose a Florence Custom Font

In the Font Family dropdown, you should see your Florence custom fonts available, such as:

  • Florence Custom Headings
  • Florence Custom Script

To apply a custom font:

  1. Open the Font Family dropdown.
  2. Select the custom font you want to use.

For example:

  • Use Florence Custom Headings for main headings
  • Use Florence Custom Script for accent or decorative text

If you don’t want to use a custom font, simply select any other font from the dropdown!

Benefits of Applying Custom Fonts

One of the biggest benefits of using the Florence custom font options is that they make future changes easier.

For example, if multiple blocks are using Florence Custom Script, and you later decide to assign a different font to that script setting, all blocks already using that font assignment will automatically update.

This means you don’t have to manually re-edit every individual text block later.
